About Me
My name is Al Henderson. I am an independent music artist and musician. I am so happy and blessed to be able to share my music with you. I have been involved in gospel music most of my life. This website is designed as a tool to introduce my music to the world and to be a witness of God’s love.
My musical influences and styles cover a broad range from jazz, soul, r&b, funk , soft-rock, pop and the list goes on. Every musician and singer that I have listened to has had an influence on me. There is so much good music in the world if I start naming people the list would be very long, so I’ll just leave it at that.
I think that I offer a nice alternative to what’s out on the mainstream gospel music scene. Sit back, relax, and check out the music for yourself. Also, please feel free to join my mailing list so that you can receive news, updates, and free new music .
Born November 1959, in Centreville, Illinois, USA. I grew up in that area. I am one of five siblings. My father was a preacher and he also worked at a meat packing company. My mother was a homemaker. They both possessed musical talent and abilities. When we were children, My mother would gather us all around the piano and teach us church songs. She truly was my greatest musical inspiration .
I took a major interest in music at the age of nine years old. We were raised in church, so by age 11, I was playing the piano in church and shortly thereafter, started playing the Hammond organ. I remember when I made the switch to the organ. My uncle, who was the original organist, was leaving town, so I was to take his place.
I started writing songs around 14 or 15 years old and produced a 45 record for my church. I continued my song writing and recording and became part of and/or formed the groups: Firepower, Hearts of Fire, and Deliverance.
In 1995, a good friend of mine, Alexander Richardson and I, wrote and produced my first solo album titled, “Ultimate Lifestyle.” The album was released on the Scooterpop Records label which is Alex’s label. We toured in support of that project and received some very favorable reviews and feedback as well.
February 2007 I released my self-produced current CD “New Day.”The project is a ten track offering containing songs of praise, worship, exaltation, and adoration to God, learning to trust Him more, love and forgiveness for one another with God’s help, and His unconditional, incredible love for all mankind.
I am currently in the studio working on new music for myself and my sister Arsenia Henderson-Moore(she can sing for real) so I will be letting you all know wus up. If you are on my mailing list, you will hear the new music before it is released to the public so be sure and sign up.
