Love comes in all shapes sizes and colors. It is sometimes disguised as a smile, a kind word, a hand shake or a hug. No matter what form it comes in, it is the most powerful force in existence. Love can make a hard hear ted person break down and cry like a baby. Love can cause you to forgive someone that you know has hurt you. Now, in our very limited human thinking and reasoning, it makes no sense to forgive and forget, or to love someone in-spite of of the wrong they have done to us.
You see my friends, love does not always make sense. Love is supernatural. Love is God. Now I know you might be thinking “awe man, he’s getting religious on us”. I am not getting religious at all. Love is one the most misunderstood things in the world. People confuse love with lust. They are two totally different things. Love is a spiritual, godly, thing that gives you the desire to treat your fellow man and woman with honor and respect.
It makes you want to put others above yourself (within reason and in perspective). Lust on the other hand is sometimes very selfish and is always seeking to be number one and does not give a flip about anybody. Love brings care and concern. Lust brings just the opposite of that. In spite of all, love is still the greater power.
Have you ever picked up a baby that was crying and held the baby close to you and almost immediately he or she stopped crying? Well, okay, maybe the baby was hungry or needed drying, or just maybe the baby felt security and love when you held him or her close to you. On another note, love also works well through understanding. If you understand why a person behaves a certain way, that will cause you to have compassion for them because you realize where they are coming from.
Love will cause you to bear with a person’s faults (as long as you are not being harmed in any way). Love can cause you to look at what some would say is the worst person in the world and make you say, “hmm they aren’t so bad”. If we had more people in the world practicing just simple principles of love, this would be a much better place to live in.
Music Is
Music is an expression of life. It is a very powerful energy and force that can touch and change hearts and minds. It is an ever present friend that visits us everyday of our lives. Music can lift your spirit or make you sad. It can save your life, or make you want to commit suicide. Music can change your mood or make you reminisce about another place and time. It can make you feel love or hate.
It can make you laugh or cry or do both at the same time. You might wonder how something so simple be so powerful and potent? I am glad you asked that question. Being a songwriter myself, and enjoying it very much, I will try to answer that question. Now, this is simply my opinion, but I truly feel and believe that music comes from the unseen realm or eternity. The person composing the song is the channel which the song comes through.
I believe some forms of music are pure and some are poison or toxic. The heart of the person writing and composing the music greatly determines one or the other. Also, what is the message or what is the song suppose to do or accomplish. Some music is written and meant to be harmful, some is not. Now I know that some music may not appear to be neither good or evil.
Some compositions are written solely as life testimonials, I would say that’s cool. Others are written to be humorous and lighthearted, two thumbs up. I guess as long as the music is not degrading human life in any way or degrading the Creator it is most likely okay. In spite of all that we know that music is, it is more than we can ever put into words or writing.
The www.com phenomenon
Have you ever really thought about what kind of phenomenon the
internet really is? It has really and truly caused the world to shrink
to the point where you can do just about everything you need to
do without leaving home or do it with your cell phone. I’m an oldskool
cat and this www.com thing blows my mind. You literally have anything you need at your fingertips 24 hours a day everyday!
I grew up in 60′s and 70′s(the good old days) with The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Real Superman, Batman and Robin, The Green Hornet and Kato, American Bandstand, Soul-train,(see what I mean) and the list goes on.
When I was a young boy shootin’ marbles and riding my bike around the neighborhood little did I know that when I grew up I was going to be able to connect with people all over the world through a screen that sits on my desk or a small portable telephone I carry in my pocket. It really makes you feel like anything is possible.
It kind of makes me think about an oldskool sci-fi movie from the old days. You have a scientist who created an electronic box with a screen on it. This box is connected to a cord that is connected to a controller with say 3 buttons on it. The 1st button is the off and on switch. The 2nd button finds the location of where you want to look. The 3rd button allows you to communicate with the people you come in contact with as you browse the “Window To The World“.
I know it’s corny, but if you grew up in the era that I grew up in, you could definitely relate to what I am saying. One point I really want to get over to you is this. The www.com phenomenon has opened a world of endless opportunities for anyone who puts forth an effort. You have folks becoming very wealthy due to education, perseverance, and networking on the world wide web. It’s been predicted, by 2020, there will be 20.6 million millionaire households in the world.
They didn’t say how this is going to happen, but I would probably be safe to say that a lot of it is going to come through the internet. We are living in the best time in history right now because average joes are making CEO salaries and better. This was not possible 20 or 30 years ago and you know it wasn’t possible when I was a boy watching Fred & Barney on the big screen wooden box with the rabbit ears.
